On my first day of my WLE I biked to Impact to work with Brian Tester our IT coordinator. Brian had me arrange broken iBook computers into plastic tubs in a small room near his office. I had to move bigger monitors somewhere else in the work space and then put the iBooks where the monitors were. Then he had me flatten out all the cardboard boxes that he had outside and throw them all away in the dumpster. After that we went out to lunch for vietnanese food. Upon coming back I got a text message from Linda saying printers arrived. So once we got back I went and got the printers from Linda.
My first day was a lot of work a bit hard but not to bad. I was working at school where most staff members all ready know me so it was easy to fit in. I didn't do much with technology but it was only the first day so maybe later on I will begin to use the technology. My mentor said I was working too fast and I needed to slow down so that could be an area of improvement. I was busy the whole time except when Brian went to a meeting with Tucci for 20minutes but he said it was my break time. I believe my mentor was impressed with me because he was amazed that I got all the work done that he had me do because he doesn't get everything done everyday. Maybe not impressed but excited to have an intern.
